Spite: Mask of Brigitte

A Diablo Inspired Game

 

"Spite: Mask of Brigitte" is a game inspired by Diablo 3. After your sister defies the gods by stealing the mask of Brigitte, it's now your duty to restore the swamp with the help of the lwa's powers and guidance.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

  • 3 Level Designers

  • 5 Graphic Designers

  • 6 Game Programmers

  • 12 weeks half-speed

  • FriendshipEngine (Our programmers developed their own Engine)

My Contribution:

  • Level Designing the second level.

  • Level Propping / Level Art on each level

  • Member in Story task force

  • Helped write our GDD

REFLECTION

Creating a game inspired by Diablo 3 was a thrilling challenge, especially since it's a game I've personally enjoyed playing. My role involved diving into the story aspects and researching voodoo to ensure authenticity in our narrative. We wanted to steer clear of Westernized stereotypes and make sure our portrayal was respectful and accurate. Alongside this, we crafted a detailed Game Design Document (GDD) to map out our vision.

One of the most rewarding parts was collaborating closely with the team, especially during Level Design (LD). We bounced ideas off each other and welcomed feedback to iterate and refine our game mechanics. It was a dynamic process that allowed us to constantly improve and evolve our project.
